Police Target Drug Rings Near Schools in Major Youth Protection Campaign

In a concerted effort to dismantle drug networks operating near educational institutions, Islamabad Police informed today that they have launched an extensive awareness campaign, directly engaging students to combat the rising threat of narcotics among the youth.

The initiative is a key component of the ongoing ‘Nasha Ab Nahi’ campaign, operating under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, which aims to create a drug-free federal capital.

As part of this city-wide push, law enforcement officials, including officers from the SDPO Ramna Circle and SHO Kirpa Police Station, are delivering specialized lectures within schools and colleges to highlight the dangers of substance abuse.

During these awareness sessions, students are educated on the severe physical, psychological, and social consequences of narcotics. The officers underscored that addiction poses an extreme danger to their health and future prospects.

The youth were strongly encouraged to abstain from illicit substances and to play an active role in protecting their peers from this social evil. Authorities emphasized that a collaborative approach involving parents and educators is crucial to safeguarding young people from addiction.

Students have been urged to immediately report any suspicious drug-related activities to the authorities, with officials stressing that public cooperation is essential for eradicating the menace. Law enforcement has formed special teams and is coordinating with other agencies to apprehend dealers specifically targeting areas around educational facilities.

Islamabad Police reaffirmed their resolve to bring those involved in drug peddling to justice and called for active citizen participation in the ‘Nasha Ab Nahi’ movement. Residents are advised to convey any relevant information to their nearest police station or via the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15’ without delay.
