In a significant step towards industrial self-reliance, the government is formulating a policy to establish a local manufacturing sector for lithium-ion batteries on the direct orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This strategic initiative was the primary focus of a high-level meeting held on Wednesday, chaired by Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar Khan.
The discussions during the meeting focused on creating a viable framework for the production and assembly of lithium-ion battery technology in the country.
Mr. Khan confirmed that the formulation of this new industrial policy is underway, and stressed its significance as a ministerial directive aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing capabilities.
