Islamabad, February 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): Met office informed that westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country on Saturday and likely to grip upper/central parts of the country on Sunday and likely to persist over Malakand, Gilgit-Baltistan intermittently for few days. Under the influence of this weather system:
Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) of light to moderate intensity is expected at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Lahore divisions), Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday and Monday.
Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, D.G. Khan, Multan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur divisions on Sunday.
Snowfall is also expected in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Galliyat during the period.
Spokesman further informed that this rain will be beneficial for rabi crops.
