Srinagar, May 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have strongly condemned the rape of a three-year-old girl in Sumbal area of Bandipore district. Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, appealed the people of Kashmir to maintain unity and vigil in view of the mischievous forces waiting to create a sectarian divide.
Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi in a statement, denouncing the rape incident, said the rape victim is the daughter of Kashmir society and all are on the same page with regard to this heinous crime.
The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a statement in Srinagar condemned the rape of a three-year-old girl and said that had culprits of such heinous crimes been punished sternly in past, Sumbal tragedy would not have taken place.
Giving example of Kathua tragedy, he said that had culprits been given stern punishment, it would have worked and the anti-human elements would have thought twice before carrying out their inhuman act at Sumbal. He however, said that majority of the Kashmiri youth are living pious lives but some black sheep are bringing bad name for the whole society.
The chief spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Rafiq Dar in a statement in Srinagar said the rape incident of a three years old girl is not only highly condemnable but intolerable and unforgivable as well. “The human beast who is involved in this inhuman and gruesome act deserves an immediate, severe and exemplary punishment after it is proved following the thorough investigations, he added.
The President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, in a statement expressed shock at the heinous rape of a three years old child. He also warned elements who were trying to give a sectarian colour to the incident to refrain from mischievous conspiracies aiming at dividing society.
