In a significant move to create global career opportunities for healthcare workers, the Government of Sindh has committed to providing free training programs and examination support to nurses and other health professionals aspiring for overseas employment. This directive was issued by Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho during a high-level meeting focused on strengthening the health education sector in the region.

This important meeting was chaired by Dr. Pechuho, attended by prominent figures from the health and education sectors. Participants included Chairman PMCI, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Peerzada; Professor Dr. Javed Ajmal; and Secretary BBSHRRDB, Mr. Munawar Ali Mahesar, in addition to various nursing leaders and heads of institutions.

The primary objective of the meeting was to strategize on strengthening nursing and allied health sciences education in the province. Key points of discussion included elevating teaching standards, enhancing professional standards, and expanding career opportunities for graduates.

A major focus of the meeting was preparing young nurses for overseas employment opportunities. The forum discussed the need to conduct comprehensive awareness sessions on NCLEX training, international licensing examinations, and immigration procedures to equip candidates with the necessary information.

Pledging her full support for this initiative, Dr. Pechuho directed the authorities to establish free training programs. She stressed the importance of facilitating the licensing examination process to enable health professionals to succeed in securing international jobs.

The meeting included a list of distinguished participants, including Advisor to the Health Minister Dr. Dabir Ahmed, and nursing directors from several reputable institutions including Ziauddin University, Indus Hospital, Dow University of Health Sciences, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro, and Hamdard University.

This collaborative effort is seen as a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between PMCI, BBSHRRDB, and the Government of Sindh, paving the way for sustainable development in the province’s health and nursing education landscape.
