Following a deadly suicide bombing targeting the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters that resulted in the martyrdom of three security personnel and injuries to three others, prominent Christian leader Basharat Athwal has condemned it as a “blatant attack on national security.”
In a statement, on Monday Athwal described the attack as a “cowardly” and “inhumane” act, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of life. The bombing, which occurred on Monday morning, resulted in the martyrdom of three FC personnel, while two soldiers and three civilians were injured.
The political and social leader stressed that such acts of terrorism are a failed attempt to disrupt the nation’s peace, declaring that the country and its security institutions stand firmly united in the face of such threats.
Athwal extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers and prayed for the speedy recovery of all those injured in the blast.
He called upon the government and law enforcement agencies to take “strong and effective action” against terrorist networks, urging for measures to bring a permanent end to such heart-wrenching incidents.
Athwal highlighted the Christian community’s consistent role in promoting Pakistan’s security, peace, and stability, and pledged his full support in the ongoing fight against terrorism. He concluded by terming the incident an attack on all of humanity and stressed that a unified response is the “need of the hour.”
