Pakistan’s top leadership today vehemently denounced a terrorist assault on the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters, attributing the attack to a group identified as “Fitna-ul-Khawarij” and commending security personnel for preventing a major catastrophe.
In a statement, President Asif Ali Zardari described the incident as a cowardly act perpetrated by foreign terrorists operating with external support against the homeland. He affirmed that the complete eradication of these foreign-backed elements remains the state”s highest priority.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a separate message, demanded that those responsible for the incident be identified as soon as possible and brought to justice. He declared a firm resolve to destroy the evil intentions of terrorists who attack the integrity of Pakistan.
Both leaders extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the wounded. They paid tribute to the timely and courageous action of the security forces and police, which they credited with averting more substantial losses.
The Prime Minister also directed authorities to provide immediate and comprehensive medical assistance to all individuals injured in the attack.
