KARACHI: An important meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner South Complex regarding the law and order situation, cleanliness arrangements and other arrangements for Christmas 2022. The meeting was led by the Deputy Commissioner South District Capt (R) Muhammad Saeed Laghari. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion regarding the cleaning arrangements on the occasion of Christmas, lighting arrangements in the churches, law and order and security situation.
While giving a detailed briefing to the Deputy Commissioner South District, it was told that there are 42 small and big churches in the South District, in which prayers and Christmas celebrations are held, in addition to regional celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner South, while giving instructions, said that proper arrangements for cleaning and lighting should be made in all the churches and concrete steps should be taken regarding security. He said that all the necessary facilities should be provided to the Christian community to perform religious rituals.
The meeting was attended among others by Fathers of Churches, police officers, rangers, all law enforcement agencies, Assistant Commissioners, and officials of KMC, DMC, SSGC, KE, Fire Brigade, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Sindh Solid Waste Management, Scouts, Traffic Police and related institutions. The Deputy Commissioner South said that he would personally review the cleanliness and security arrangements of the churches in this regard.
