Two mln food packs for flood affected mothers, children to be raised in next ten days: Ahsan

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said two million food packs for mothers and children affected by the floods will be raised with the support of University students in the next ten days.

Addressing a ceremony organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) here in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said the Vice Chancellors should task every student to raise the food pack worth three to four thousand rupees individually or with the support of community.

He said these food packs will be distributed through National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the armed forces. He said this effort is aimed at ensuring that no mother or child in the calamity hit areas sleeps without food. He said it is high time to fully stand by the flood-affected people.
