Srinagar, July 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in its second report on human rights violations in Kashmir has vindicated the stand of Hurriyat leadership that Indian troops continue the genocide of Kashmiris.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, while commenting on the UN Body’s report about grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir said that Indian atrocities and brutalities had crossed all the limits and were continuing unabated for the last 71 years. He said that it was for the second time that UN realized the gravity and severity of this grave and grim situation. He recommended the UN to probe the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory.
“This world body has testified our stand that Indian armed forces under the undemocratic and unethical shield of legal impunity continue the genocide of Kashmiris with bullets, pellets, torture, rape, humiliation and incarceration,” he said. The APHC Chairman said that if this military onslaught was not stopped, the people of the territory would have to face tougher and harsher days ahead.
Commenting on India’s rejection of the report, he said it was expected as New Delhi has been holding this land by the deceit and denial for the last 71 years, but its “fairy trail rhetoric” can no longer hold water in the age of modern and latest technology where nothing remains hidden from the sharp eyes of the lens, which displays even the minute details of an incident.
The APHC Chairman appealed to the UN rights body to take serious note of this brazen denial of facts and pressurize India to abide by its universal obligations and implement the long-pending UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir to pave way for permanent peace and prosperity in the region.
