Karachi:Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has asked deputy commissioners of all 6 districts of Karachi to launch an awareness campaign for cleanliness amongst the people of their respective districts by organizing seminars including other means so that the Karachi city can be kept clean beautifully and sophisticatedly.
He instructed this while recently visiting the Head Office of SSWMB (Sindh Solid Waste Management Board) in Karachi.
The C.S. noted that SSWBB should enhance its services by evolving its mechanism to cover all the districts through lifting of garbage and dumping to that landfill sites with the specific reference of betterment to the environment and beautician of Karachi which is the sixth biggest city of the World and more populous than 88 countries globally.
Shah advised the Secretary LGD, Commissioner Karachi and MD SSWMB to ensure successful implementation of SSWMB functions. He categorically noted that the contract may be revoked of the firms subject to their lack of interest in the agreed task of disposal of solid waste.
