The Sindh Health Department released a report on Thursday, identifying 175 confirmed dengue cases in the province this month. This brings the total number of cases in 2025 to 819, including one death from the disease.

According to the report, Karachi is the most affected city with 85 cases, followed by 48 in Hyderabad, 37 in Mirpurkhas, and 5 in Sukkur, as stated by Sindh’s Health Minister, Dr. Azra Pechuho. The minister expressed concern over these figures and outlined the government’s proactive measures to curb the outbreak. She emphasized that anti-dengue measures have been intensified across all divisions, including Karachi, with daily spray and fogging operations underway.

Additionally, hospitals have been given specific instructions to enhance patient care. Dr. Pechuho reiterated that dengue is preventable and urged the public to eliminate standing water in their homes to help control the epidemic. Meanwhile, health department teams are continuing to closely monitor suspected and confirmed cases and are implementing immediate measures in collaboration with the district administration.
