Pakistan, UN jointly launch Flood Response Plan 2022 to meet needs of flood victims

Islamabad, August 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Government of Pakistan and the UN have jointly launched Flood Response Plan 2022 to meet the needs of flood-affected people. Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the international community to give its full backing to the flash appeal to help the people of Pakistan most in need. He encouraged them to contribute generously towards meeting the funding requirements of this response plan. The Foreign Minister said the appeal prioritizes focused interventions in areas of education, food security, agriculture, health, nutrition, protection, shelter and non-food items, water, sanitation and hygiene. Ahsan directs to evolve effective strategy to prevent outbreak of diseases in flood-hit areas

Islamabad, August 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Federal Relief Committee Ahsan Iqbal has directed the authorities concerned to evolve effective strategy to prevent outbreak of diseases in flood-affected areas. Chairing a meeting on flood situation in Islamabad on Monday, he said cellular companies should also be directed to take emergency measures for restoration of service in affected areas. PM in Charsadda to review relief operation in flood-affected areas

Islamabad, August 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is in Charsadda to review relief operation in flood-affected areas. He was briefed about the damages caused by flood and relief activities. Earlier, The Prime Minister also visited the flood relief camp in Nowshera. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shahzad Bangash briefed the Prime Minister about the damages caused by flood and relief activities. ECP adjourns hearing of Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan till September 7

Islamabad, August 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has adjourned hearing of Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan till 7th of next month. During the hearing, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja asked PTI lawyer Barrister Gohar Khan as to why assets details are not being submitted in the ECP. The PTI lawyer contended that he could not submit the details due to engagement in FIA case. Later, talking to media outside the ECP, PML-N leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said PTI Chairman Imran Khan did not declare his assets in Election Commission of Pakistan.
