The Wildlife Department informed today that it has launched a stringent operation against illegal hunters in the Pindi Gheb area, resulting in several arrests and the imposition of heavy fines totaling Rs. 750,000. The crackdown has seen multiple poachers sent to jail as authorities amplify efforts to protect the region’s fauna.

The initiative is part of a broader provincial mandate from the Government of Punjab aimed at ensuring the preservation of wildlife. The successful enforcement actions in the bordering district were carried out under the explicit instructions of Deputy Chief Wildlife Rawalpindi, Arifa Batool, and Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Attock, Shahzaib Khurshid.

Led by Senior Wildlife Ranger Shoukat Khan, the Pindi Gheb team executed a series of successful raids that culminated in the apprehension of numerous individuals involved in unlawful hunting. The substantial penalties collected from the offenders have been deposited into the national treasury.

Speaking to the media, the in-charge of the local Wildlife Department affirmed the agency”s full commitment to safeguarding wildlife and endangered bird species. He issued a stern warning to lawbreakers, urging them to cease all illicit activities or face severe legal consequences.
