Two suspected dacoits were taken into custody in an injured condition on Thursday after an armed encounter with law enforcement personnel on the River Bank near Gujjar Nala in the Liaquatabad area this morning.
A spokesperson for the Super Market police station later identified the arrested individuals as Mubeen son of Nadeem and Muhammad Zeeshan son of Shakeel Khan.
The encounter occurred after an exchange of fire between the suspects and a police patrolling party.
Authorities confirmed that two pistols with ammunition and a motorcycle were recovered from the possession of the accused after their arrest.
The injured were later shifted to a medical center for treatment.
Authorities said a formal investigation into the matter has been launched to ascertain further details.
