Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, took direct action to address public concerns on Tuesday, vowing to ensure the prompt and merit-based resolution of all citizen complaints as he personally listened to grievances during an open court session. The initiative, part of the IGP’s “Open Door Policy,” saw him issue on-the-spot directives to subordinate officers to tackle issues raised by residents and police personnel at the Central Police Office.

During the “Khuli Kachehri,” IGP Rizvi emphasized that settling the public’s problems remains the foremost priority for the Islamabad Police. “My doors are always open to the people,” he affirmed, encouraging any citizen experiencing difficulties with police-related matters to come forward without hesitation.

The police chief instructed the relevant officials to address all presented complaints within a prescribed timeframe. He mandated that detailed reports on the resolution of each case, handled strictly on merit, must be submitted to the Central Police Office for review.

In a broader directive aimed at improving accessibility, IGP Rizvi ordered all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to strictly adhere to their designated office hours. He stressed the importance of ensuring that citizens’ problems are managed on a priority basis at the local level.

Highlighting the success of the program, the IGP noted that the practice of holding daily open courts has proven to be an effective mechanism for the swift and transparent settlement of public grievances.

Reiterating the department’s commitment to public service, he directed all zonal officers and SHOs to maintain regular interaction with their communities. The IGP underscored that facilitating the public by resolving their issues in a timely and transparent manner remains central to the mission of the Islamabad Police.
