A striking 84% of Pakistanis would support military intervention to protect Saudi Arabia, a new national survey has revealed, highlighting profound public endorsement for the recently signed strategic defence agreement between the two nations.

The poll, conducted by Gallup Pakistan and released by the Gilani Research Foundation today, found that a staggering 90% of the populace approves of the Strategic Military Agreement with the Kingdom, indicating near-unanimous national backing for the defence alliance.

This widespread endorsement of the accord has corresponded with a significant boost in public confidence in the nation”s armed forces. The survey indicated that 76% of respondents feel their trust in the Pakistan Army has increased following the formalization of the defence treaty.

Furthermore, a strong majority of 79% expressed confidence in the Pakistan Army”s capability to effectively defend Saudi Arabia if such a need were to arise, underscoring a deep-seated belief in the military”s operational readiness and strength.

When questioned about the anticipated advantages of the pact, citizens cited a mix of strategic and economic gains. Nearly a third of participants (29%) believe the agreement will lead to strengthened defence protection for Pakistan. Meanwhile, 23% anticipate it will enhance the global image of the Army, and an equal proportion see potential economic opportunities stemming from the strengthened relationship.
