LARKANA: As many as 13 employees of Central Jail, Larkana, have been transferred to Mirpurkhas, by the Inspector General of Prisons IGP, Sindh, after massive corruption charges. They include four head constables, eight constables and a dispenser.
According to the sources, Jail Superintendent, Ashfaque Ahmed Kalwar, had sent a detailed report to the IGP Qazi Nazir Ahmed, against them alleging that the relevant employees are involved in supplying drugs and other illegal material to the inmates hence they should be transferred out of Larkana district.
The head constables include Ali Hassan Jakhro, Abdul Qadir Chandio, Muhammad Bux Ujjan, Taimoor, dispenser Zamir Abro, eight constables including Majid Usman Shaikh, Salim Shaikh, Younis Soomro, Muhammad Ali Rahujo, Shamsul Haq Junejo, Nadim Jatoi, Imran Mirani and Aslam Mahesar.
Jailer Ashfaque Kalwar told reporters on Wednesday that action was taken against two employees previously who were also involved in supplying unlawful goods to the inmates and cases were registered against them. He said even then 13 other employees did not improve their performance hence they have been transferred to Mirpurkhas jail by the IGP. He said all facilities are available to the inmates according to the jail manual and no illegal material will be allowed at all inside the prison.
In yet another case of corruption, the Inspector General of Police IGP, Sindh, also took notice of massive rampant illegal gratification in the office of Senior Superintendent of Police SSP and ordered the transfer of three cops directing them to report to the Karachi office immediately.
The transferred cops include SSP’s PSO Shuhab Kolachi, Sheet Clerk Nawaz Magsi and a cop Imdad Shar. Sources said that the transferred cops are involved in massive corruption as a complaint was sent to the IGP Mashtaque Mahar against them by the affected policemen against unlawful deduction of their salaries, demanding illegal gratification on transfer postings and harassing them on one pretext or the other which was causing them mental torture.
