KARACHI:At least 54,052 dengue viral fever cases have been recorded throughout Pakistan from the 1st January to 29th December 2019 while 95 people have died of this mosquito-borne disease so far.
According to the statistics, as many as 54,052 dengue fever cases were detected all over the country since 1st Jan to 29 Dec 2019, out of which 16,897 were recorded in Sindh, 13,295 in Islamabad, 10,120 in Punjab, 7,082 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,474 in Baluchistan, 1,690 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 794 in KP tribal districts and 699 in other areas.
The dengue fever has claimed 95 lives across the country so far out of which 46 deaths were registered in Sindh, 23 in Punjab, 22 in Islamabad, three in Baluchistan and one in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In Sindh, a total of 16,897 dengue cases were detected so far out of which, 15,684 from Karachi and 1213 from other districts.
The dengue fever has claimed 46 lives across the Sindh province out of which 44 deaths were recorded in Karachi city and one each in Hyderabad and Ghotki.
