SUKKUR:Commissioner Sukkur Division Manzoor Ali Shaikh on Tuesday asked SEPCO to prepare a plan to ensure smooth power supply to all polling stations of Sukkur division for three days ahead and one day during the polls.
He said this while presiding over a meeting at his office with SEPCO officials and district administration. The commissioner instructed SEPCO officials to avoid load-shedding on the occasion polls and the electricity should be provided at all polling stations including Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki districts and these districts be kept free from load-shedding.
Shaikh stressed the need that electricity should be provided to three districts at any cost and if any polling station was deprived of power facility, availability of generator system be ensured there.
On the occasion, deputy commissioner Raheem Metlo told the meeting that power connection of 56 polling stations of Sukkur districts had been cut off, so those should be restored immediately. Separately, 514 polling stations of Khairpur districts have electricity problem and power connection of Ghotki’s 194 polling stations has also been suspended.
He also said that providing electricity and avoiding load-shedding were the responsibilities of SEPCO.
