LARKANA:The Central President, WAPDA Hydro Union, Abdul Latif Nizamani, said Tuesday that electricity thieves and corrupt elements are enemies of the institution as they had no concern with it.
“Anti-union forces will not be able to succeed in their nefarious designs,” he said while addressing labourers during his visit to Sepco Circle Office today. He asked linemen to take care of their precious lives and refuse to work till shutdown is made.
He said that Hydro Union had so far two times saved WAPDA from privatisation through its struggle and had succeeded six times in the referendum. Nizamani said he had held meetings with Sepco Chief Saeed Ahmed Dawach, Larkana’s Superintending Engineer Muhammad Khan Sohu and Project Director, Construction Division, Nazir Ahmed Soomro, who had assured that up-gradation, time scale, promotions, marriage grants and other issues would be resolved by 15th March, adding services of 29 contract employees of Larkana will also be regularized and relevant notification will be issued.
He said over 100 employees of construction would also be transferred back who were posted at far flung places. He was accompanied by provincial secretary Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Youth Chairman Munaf Nizamani, Nisar Shaikh, Abdullah Soomro and others. They also offered condolences over the death of their worker Mahboob Bhatti who lost his life in Kambar while repairing live electricity cable with his brother Mahfooz Bhatti.
