KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla, while taking notice of the news of sale of narcotics in the surroundings of educational institutions, has constituted a special team under the leadership of excise and taxation officer.
The team will detect, investigate and register cases of narcotics being sold in areas surrounding educational institutions in Karachi.
This was decided in a meeting chaired by Chawla here in his office on Monday. Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh , Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Narcotics Control and other officers also attended the meeting.
Chawla said that it was the matter of great concern that certain elements were involved in selling drugs in educational institutions, especially in posh areas, and had made young generation to their targets for their ulterior motives.
He added: “It is our prime duty to save our future generation from the menace of using narcotics and we all have to work to get our objective.” He asked the members of the team to nab drug dealers at any cost and not to allow anyone to spoil our future generation.
Chawla also requested the parents and the teachers to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of their children and the students respectably. He said that all stakeholders should work together to eradicate drugs from the society.
