KARACHI:A patient was killed and two others injured in a collision between an ambulance and a truck in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the metropolis on Saturday.
According to rescue sources, a fast-moving truck went out of drivers’ control and collided with an ambulance near Nipa Chowrangi owing to over-speeding. As a result, a 25-year-old patient, Dilshad sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, while his father, Siraj and aunt Fehmida sustained injuries.
Receiving information rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the body and injured to a nearby hospital.
According to police, the ambulance was on its way to transport a patient to a private hospital in Clifton from Sukkur as truck hit the ambulance due to over speeding. They said the truck driver fled the scene soon after the accident; however separate teams have been constituted to arrest the truck driver, police added.
