KHAIRPUR:Power load-shedding upto 18 hours and over six hours continued to hit villages and towns of Larkana and Khairpur districts respectively, within 24 hours on daily basis amid heat wave. The citizens are passing life in trouble as the government feels no responsibility to resolve this social long issue. The children and old people are worst affected by the power outages.
Khairpur and Larkana districts also has hot climate, characterised by very hot and hazy summers. Dry heat is experienced starting April to early September. Monsoons are not very wet, as they bring high dew points, resulting in high heat indices. The social activities and public health in both regions of Sindh province have been hit hard.
The load-shedding and warm weather are going to gather and they have made the life of people miserable. There is need to bring halt in load-shedding so that people could take a sigh of relief.
The power load shedding upto 18 hours is being carried out in Khairpur district’s all villages. Most hit are the villages of Taluka Gambat that include Razi Dero Kacho, Noor Pur, Sagyoon, Ripri, Kamal Dero, Khemtia, Jadowahan and Belharo.
Neither Nawaz Sharif and PPP government nor PTI government could resolve this issue till today. It seems that they had no responsibility in this regard.
Imran Khan during political campaigns on containers and election drive have made big claims of resolving power outages issue, but there is not progress yet.
The load-shedding and warm weather have made the life of people miserable. There is need to bring halt in load-shedding so that people could take a sigh of relief. There is need to provide relief to the villagers of Khairpur and Larkana districts as climate change has made these districts hotter one.
Many villages in Larkana are also affected by power outages while Larkana districts’ towns are also undergoing crippling heat wave accompanied by power outages. Worst hit is Larkana city where high temperatures up 48-50 degrees have hit people hard.
