ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) and Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Tuesday jointly started a three-day 21st Textile Asia 2019 – International Textile, Garments Machinery and Clothing Trade Fair that will continue till 28th March, 2019 at Karachi Expo Centre.
Honorable Mr. Sualeh Farooqui, Secretary Trade Development Authority of Pakistan alongwith Mr. Shaikh Mohammad Shafiq, Chairman Pakistan Readymade Garments and Manufacturers Association (SouthZone), Foreign Delegates, Dr. Khursheed Nizam, President – Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. and Mr. Uzair Nizam, Project Director Textile Asia inaugurated the exhibition by multiple ribbon cutting ceremony
Sualeh Farooqui, Secretary Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, said that the export of Pakistani readymade garments had increased in the international market as well as prices of Pakistani readymade garments had also increased. He was of the view that the holding of this event would be beneficial for the local textile industry and that there would be enhancement in the country’s exports. The display of the modern machinery will also benefit this sector and those associated with the industry would also enhance their capacity.
PRGMEA Chairman (Central) Shaikh Mohammad Shafiq said that this trade fair is expected to host more than 2,000 foreign delegates as well as 65,000 visitors from trade and corporate sector. The focus of this trade fair is value addition in Textile industry to increase the export of our value-added textile and garment products.
This 3-days trade fair has been termed as South Asia’s largest B2B textile, garment, embroidery, digital printing machineries and chemical and allied services Trade Fair. More than 1,000 International Brands displayed their products in over 788 Booths from 27 countries mainly from Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, Turkey, UK, USA etc. graced the event.
President Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, Dr. Khursheed Nizam said that 21st Textile Asia is the only UFI (Paris) approved Textile trade fair in South Asia. Adding to it, Mr Uzair Nizam Project Director Textile Asia told us that this trade fair showcases immense buying selling potential of textile, garment and allied industries and is poised to introduce overseas suppliers of textile and garment materials, accessories and parts and machinery to the textile and garment industry of Pakistan.
