KHAIRPUR: The 4th meeting of Executive Council of Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Association (SALUTA) was held on Tuesday at Department of Political Science which was chaired by SALUTA Vice-President Prof Dr Abdul Hussain Shar.
The Executive Council criticized the attitude of Vice-Chancellor for not meeting SALUTA representatives on the issues of the teaching community. The EC will approach Chief Minister and Secretary Universities for solution of the genuine demands of the faculty members.
The EC sternly criticized the negative and discriminative attitude of Postgraduate Studies and registrar office towards teaching community. The meeting surprised how teacher education department is running without Chairman and Dean Faculty which is clear violation of University Act.
The EC members pointed out during meeting that this is clear violation of university code that junior/non-PhD faculty members are appointed as Incharge in presence of PhD faculty in the departments of Teacher Education, Sindhi and Islamic Studies.
The members were of the opinion that the forums are being deactivated as the Senate meeting has not been called since last three years and university is running without passed budget which is again violation of the university Act.
EC also criticized the discriminative attitude of administration for advertising only few posts which has created unrest amongst senior faculty members. The removal of lady faculty member from Hostel Warden was criticized where a Teaching Assistant has been given additional charge of warden which is clear violation of Act.
It was unanimously resolved in the meeting that the movement against corruption will remain continue and “Stop Corruption – Save University Seminar” will be organized on May 31, 2018, followed by Iftaar, at Larkana in collaboration with Larkana Literary Forum and civil society.
