Islamabad, November 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has said that decision about the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan would be taken through consensus and no compromise would be made on the heroic struggle of the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK). He said this while addressing a public meeting at Bun Behik area of Khai Galla in Poonch district on Friday. The event was organized by Naveed Sadiq, Chairman Azad Kashmir Board of Investment.
Touching upon the issue of Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr Khan said people of Azad were raising various questions about the future constitutional status of the region, but we are confident that whatever will be decided about Gilgit-Baltistan will involve wide consultation and consensus among all the stakeholders. The President said that the people of the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have written history of the freedom struggle with their sacred blood and sacrifices rendered by them will not go in waste. He added that in Jammu alone, over 200,000 people laid down their lives in 1947, and the sacrifices and bloodshed that began in 1947 continue till today. “I firmly believe that the sacred blood of Kashmiris will not go in vain and they will succeed in overthrowing unlawful foreign occupation and attaining their inalienable right to self-determination.”
The President said that although we are divided into different tribes and races, but our real identity was the members of one Ummah and that is Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) against which conspiracies are being hatched at the global level. One of these conspiracies is to insult the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and downplay his great position and status, which is not acceptable to the Muslims of any region of the world. “We need to forge unity in our ranks and respond effectively to countries that attack our Islamic values,” he asserted.
Our response, he continued, must come in the form of an economic boycott; Masood said and added that the Muslims of occupied Kashmir and India was also being subjected to oppression and barbarism because of their Islamic identity. All Muslims should unite against India and initiate a boycott, divestment and sanctions movement to stop India from oppression and crimes against humanity being committed in IOJK.
