ISLAMABAD:The fourth death anniversary of prominent philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi is being observed today (Wednesday).
Abdul Sattar Edhi started welfare services in 1951. He later established world’s largest volunteer ambulance network alongwith homeless shelters, animal shelters and orphanages across the country.
Many international and national awards, including the Asian Noble, the Lenin Peace Prize and Nishan-e-Imtiaz were bestowed upon him in recognition of his services for humanity. He passed away on July 8, 2016.
