KARACHI:The two elevators of National Institute of Child Health (NICH) have not been working since three months, causing grave hardships to children and their family members.
There are three elevators at NICH to shift critical children out of which two are out of order due to the some technical problems while only one is working properly. The NICH management is unable to get the elevators repaired.
The children and their family members are facing great hardships since last three months as two elevator of the six-storey institution is out of order. The shifting of critical children from emergency department to different wards has become very difficult for attendants and volunteers.
The parents of children have lodged several complaints with management of NICH for timely repairing of the faulty evaluators, but heed in this regard has yet been paid. On the other hand, behavior of elevator operators with patients and their attendants are very poor. Executive Director, NICH, Prof Dr Jamal Raza was not available for comments.
