HYDERABAD:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday raided the house of a customs inspector in Hyderabad and recovered four smuggled non-custom paid vehicles, arms and cash.

The raid was carried out in the Heerabad area of Hyderabad. The customs inspector was arrested, and investigations against him were launched.

A case was also registered against the accused. The FIA team recovered 19 short guns, 33 rifles, pistols and cartridges from the house during the raid.

Four non-custom paid vehicles, 1kg of gold ornaments, Rs500,000 cash and dozens of mummified animals were also seized during the raid.

“It will be determined in the investigation whether the customs inspector is involved in smuggling or not,” the FIA authorities said.
