KARACHI:Marta Women Football Club (MWFC) President Rais Khan said in statement on Sunday that the FIFA should focus on Pakistan’s football for the improvement and betterment of game as well as players. The FIFA’s role towards Pakistan will definitely improve football in the country like other nations but there is no role of FIFA in Pakistan as it focuses and contributes mostly for European states, he said.
“Usually FIFA does not provide financial, technical and logistic assistance as well as sources to Pakistan that’s why Pakistani football players are disappointed and the game remained unimproved while the interference in PFF’s matters caused more worsen of football,” Raees said.
He said: “During the era of former President PFF, Ashfaq Hussain Shah, some practical and sincere efforts for football would be remembered forever but the PFF’s Normalization Committee has failed to fulfill its duties and functions while no election schedule could be announced yet, but FIFA is still silent in this regard.”
He said that Goal Project Plans could not change until today while there was a lot of talent available in Pakistan if FIFA focused PFF issues. The lack of qualified and professional coaches and proper planning are the core issues for declining football in Pakistan, said Raees.
He also accused the neutralism of referees and imperialism of some officials during the National Women Football Championship, hence, no merit was considered at the time of groups and draws which caused severe reservations and angriness in local and international players. President MWFC demanded PFF of announcement of immediate election schedule, otherwise, he warned of massive protest nationwide.
