Srinagar, April 08, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the widely read local English newspaper, Greater Kashmir, has received several calls from Hindutva forces in the garb of unidentified callers threatening to shoot down the entire staff of the newspaper. The Jammu bureau of Greater Kashmir Sunday received several calls from unidentified callers, and abused the staff on the office landline. The callers said they would barge into the offices of the publication, both in Jammu as well as Srinagar, and shoot down the entire staff.
“The Lok Sabha elections are soon going to take place and no one would be able to safeguard the lives of the staff,” the callers threatened. The publication has lodged a complaint at Gandhi Nagar police station in Jammu. It is worth mentioning here that Greater Kashmir and its sister publications are already facing the ban of advertisements at the behest of BJP-led Indian government for publication of stories on merit, particularly in the perspective of the ongoing freedom movement and Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
