Srinagar, May 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has announced that Juma-tul-Wida – the last Friday of Ramadan – will be observed as Youm-e-Kashmir and Youm-e-Qudus. A spokesman of the Hurriyat forum, in a statement issued in Srinagar called upon the imams and khateebs to raise voice for the peaceful settlement of the world’s two oldest and lingering disputes – Palestine and Kashmir – on Friday and urge the international community to play its role towards resolving these disputes.
He said on the occasion of Youm-e-Qudus and Youm-e-Kashmir, a resolution framed by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) will be passed in all the masjid, shrines and imambargahs of occupied Kashmir so that a fresh message is conveyed to the world community about the need to address the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The spokesman said the resolution will call for an end to atrocities being inflicted on the peace-loving people of Kashmir by the Indian forces. The atrocities, he said, include the human rights violations, continued illegal detention of resistance leaders and activists and the prolonged detention of hundreds of youth in various jails in and outside the territory and the ultimate use of military might to crush the Kashmiris’ genuine struggle.
The message for the international community in a bid to wake up their conscience on this occasion will also be for seeking the freedom of Baitul-Maqdas (Qibla-e-Awal) and to end the brutalities being committed on the people of Palestine, he added.
