Islamabad, December 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): Meeting of the Standing Committee on Railways was held under the Chairmanship of Senator Asad Ali Khan Junejo here at the Parliament House on Thursday. The Committee took compliance report of the recommendations and directives given in earlier meetings and took a detailed briefing regarding the role, functions and working of Railway inspectorate. The Committee was told that the average punctuality of time in arrival and departure of trains is 79%. However, due to fog and dense weather these days some irregularity can be observed in timings.
The Minister told the Committee that Greenline, Karakoram Railway and Tezgam are the trains that have best services and are mostly punctual. Rehman Baba and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai trains have performed well in their initial days. It was told that divisional headquarters will soon have the facility of internet and trains will have tracker system by 25 December. Chairman Committee remarked that he made a surprise visit to Larkana Railway station and observed that the facilities provided therein were up to mark and no complaints were received.
