KARACHI:National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Friday shut down three wards after its four other employees were tested positive for coronavirus. The NICH management closed Emergency OT, Medicine Unit and Nephrology Ward. Four employees, including two doctors, a staff nurse and OT Technician, contracted the viral disease.
All four employees have been quarantined at their homes for further treatment. The doctors, nurses and support staff of three words have been instructed for screening and checkup. Around three dozen staff, which includes doctors, nurses and others of private and public sector hospitals, have been tested positive for COVID in Sindh province so far.
Central Leader of Young Nurses Association Aijaz Ahmed Kaleri while talking to PPI said medical staff working as frontline to fight coronavirus was being contracted viral infection. He said doctors, nurses and paramedical staff was performing their duties without personal protective equipments all over the Sindh province.
