QUETTA:Asghar Khan Achakzai, President, Awami National Party (ANP) Balochistan, has said even today the hundred-year-movement of Awami National Party is moving towards the right direction.
The popularity of ANP in pushtoon areas of Balochistan was increasing, he said while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Monday. On the occasion, Haji Abdul Ghaffar Kudezai, former president, Government Teachers Association and noted tribal leader of Loralai announced to join ANP.
Achakzai said that ANP Balochistan was fully independent in its decisions, however, it did seek the suggestions of central leadership of party. He said the decision to award ticket of Senate to Nawabzada Arbab Umer Farooq Kasi was made by the parliamentary board of ANP. He said Nawabzada Arbab Umer Farooq Kasi supported the candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement during the election of Chairman Senate.
Achakzai said that in Balochistan, PDM lost confirmed seats while no action was taken against those who used their votes here and there. Among the attendants were Sardar Abdul Rasheed Khan Nasar, Central Joint Secretary, ANP, Provincial General Secretary, Mabat Kaka, District President, Loralai, Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, President District Quetta, Jamal-ud-Din Ristia, Haji Hidaytullah and others.
