KARACHI:Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput said on Tuesday that Rescue 1122 service had been started in Larkana from today and soon, it will be started in all the big cities of the Sindh province.

He informed this while presiding over a review meeting of Rescue 1122 Services at his office in Karachi. The meeting was attended by Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Health Secretary Zulfiqar Shah, Finance Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, Shazina Masud, CEO Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS) and others.

Rajput said that Rescue 1122 services would be run in the entire province and all emergency departments would operate through Rescue 1122 so that during any emergency, people could contact 1122 service only. He further said that Rescue 1122 service would be launched in Thatta and Sujawal and soon, 315 ambulances would be added to it.

The administrator Karachi said that a fire brigade would also be operated through Rescue 1122 from today and in case of any emergency, 1122 would be approached and ambulance and fire brigade would also come for the rescue operation. He further said that soon, Madadgar 15 police would be operated through Rescue 1122. He further said that a Rescue Academy would also be set up in Karachi for training of Rescue 1122 personnel.

It was informed in the meeting that Thatta and Sujawal are already operational, but now new 1122 emergency ambulances would be operating there from 4th July 2022. Funds are being released for ambulances services under 1122 and the ambulances are being handed over from Sindh Resilience Project to SIEHS and the total of 315 ambulances will operate in the province.
