Srinagar, January 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities of various schools in Islamabad district have said that they are being forced to participate in the Indian Republic Day official function scheduled to be held on Saturday (26th January) at Dak Bungalow in the district. A meeting of principals from various schools of Islamabad town was recently held in Chief Education Officer’s Office where the principals of various private schools were warned of dire consequences if they did not participate in the said function.
A school owner who wished not to be named for the fear of being persecuted said, “It is shameful how the administration to show its success is using the young kids as shields.” He also said that most of the private schools had been forced to join August 15 (Indian Independence Day) functions last year. Meanwhile, the parents of students of Indian Army’s school in Khundroo, Islamabad, have said that they received messages from the school authorities asking their wards to report in the school or they will be terminated from the school.
