KARACHI:On the directives of the Prime Minister, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail participated in the campaign of distributing masks among the people and shopkeepers in Zainab Market area of Karachi on behalf of Tiger Force on Monday.
The Sindh governor also commended the workers of Tiger Force. He said that the Tiger Force formed on the directives of the Prime Minister was working hard in this difficult hour. The Tiger Force has a key role to play in protecting the public from the coronavirus.
He said that people in the bazaars have to wear masks and ensure social distance. “The entire nation has to take precautionary measures against coronavirus as social distance, surgical masks and other precautionary measures can defeat corona. In this difficult time, we all have to show responsibility. The Prime Minister is on the front line against the Coronavirus and in line with his vision, he is pursuing a uniform policy across the country to protect against corona,” he said.
He said that due to poverty, severe lockdown was not possible in the whole country at once. The governor said: “We have to stay with this virus and protect ourselves from it. We have to be very careful. This is a disease that people take to home. With your safety, you can also protect your family members from this virus.”
He said that coronavirus should not be feared but it should be fought only with precaution. Ismail said that the federation was cooperating in every possible way to protect the medical personnel in the Sindh province from the coronavirus. Later talking to the media, the Sindh governor said that the Tiger Force had started its service in the province by providing free masks to the buyers and shopkeepers.
Replying to a question, the governor said that the number of Tiger Force in Sindh is 156,000. After the provincial government did not take the services of this force, the governor had been made in charge of it in the province while Tiger Force in other three provinces were working under the government, he said.
Asked about complaints of overbilling by private hospitals, the Sindh governor said the matter would be thoroughly investigated and action would be taken against such private medical institutions if found guilty. Use masks to protect their lives and the lives of their children. “The news of plasma being sold is very sad. Such complaints will be acted upon,” he said.
