Karachi:Former Pakistan skipper and philanthropist Shahid Afridi has contracted coronavirus, he announced on Saturday and is now self-isolating.
“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I have been tested and unfortunately I am Covid-19 positive,” Afridi said. Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi has requested his fans to pray for his speedy recovery. Afridi is arguably Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketer in recent times, who was known for his rare but swashbuckling innings with the bat.
After retiring from cricket, Afridi has start welfare work through his Shahid Afridi Foundation and he was having especially been active during the recent crisis that ensued the Covid-19 pandemic. He was seen distributing ration bags and other things even at remote locations of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, the most backward region of the country.
