President calls for creating awareness about crop insurance policy

Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized on creating awareness and building confidence among common people particularly farmers’ community to take benefit from the crop insurance policy. PM felicitates Chris Hipkins on becoming New Zealand’s Prime Minister

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Chris Hipkins on becoming the 41st Prime Minister of New Zealand. In a tweet on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said he looks forward to working with him to strengthen and expand the relations between the two friendly countries. Shehbaz Sharif also extended best wishes to the new Prime Minister of New Zealand. Labour leader Chris Hipkins was sworn in as New Zealand’s Prime Minister on Wednesday, following the resignation of outgoing Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern last week. The Labour party on Sunday had elected former COVID-19 Response and Police Minister Chris Hipkins, 44, to lead the country and the party. Jacinda Ardern, 42, resigned last week, saying she had “no more in the tank” to lead the country.

ECP de-notifies another 43 MNAs of PTI

Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has de-notified another forty-three Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A notification to this effect was issued by the ECP here on Wednesday. It was the last batch of the PTI MNAs, who resigned en masse. Now the number of PTI MNAs, who have been de-notified by the ECP after their en masse resignations, has reached to 123. After the acceptance of 123 resignations, only dissident PTI lawmakers remain in the National Assembly.

Govt to extend all possible cooperation for GB’s development: Ahsan Iqbal

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the government will extend all possible cooperation for development of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). He said this while talking to the Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, who called on him here in Islamabad on Wednesday. During the meeting, they discussed matters pertaining to Development of Gilgit-Baltistan. The Governor appealed the Federal Minister to provide funds for Public Sector Development Projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.

PM asks people to apply in PM’s Youth Business, Agriculture Loan Schemes

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked women, trans-genders and differently abled people to apply in the PM’s Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Schemes and contribute to the national development. In his tweets on Wednesday, he said under the loan schemes, the youth can apply for a loan up to 7.5 million rupees on easy terms and conditions. There is no interest on a loan up to five hundred thousand rupees. The Prime Minister said this new scheme builds on a number of youth development programs. He said the PML-N has demonstrated its commitment to youth empowerment under leadership of its Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
