Quetta police claim busting several criminal gangs

Quetta: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Quetta Abdul Haq Umrani said on Tuesday that police have busted several criminal gangs involved in robbery and motorbike snatching during the last couple of weeks.

 

Addressing a press conference here at DIG office, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) operations said that due to prompt action of the police, decline in the crime rate has been witnessed in the provincial capital. Members of various gangs were arrested after the successful raids conducted on a tip off and information retrieved from the suspected injured person.

 

SSP Operations while sharing the details recalled that robbers have looted Rs5.4 million (cash and gold) from the Jewelers in Pishin area a couple of days back. Following the incident, CIA police launched an investigation and nabbed two persons involved in the robbery, recovering 60 percent looted cash and gold.

 

Efforts are afoot to bring other members of the gang to justice. In their separate actions, Industrial, Gawalmandi and Satellite Police Station teams busted three gangs involved in robbery and motorbike snatching,” he said, adding that over a dozen outlaws have been arrested by police during the first quarter of 2022.

 

To a question, he said that uncertainty in the neighboring country has caused a rise in the crime rate in the provincial capital. However, police are vigilant to curb the crime and maintain law and order in Quetta and other parts of the province.

AVLC police claim killing three robbers

KARACHI: Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police on Tuesday claimed to have killed three robbers in an alleged encounter in New Karachi.

 

According to the police, a gang of robbers snatched a car near Allaudin Park. With the help of tracker, the police traced the accused and the vehicle. The suspects opened fire when stopped by police and tried to flee. In retaliation, three suspects in a car were killed in the encounter. Inayat, Ghulam Mustafa and Javed Bugti were among those killed.

Two arrested over underage girl’s marriage issue

Narowal: Nowshera police on Tuesday arrested a 40-year-old man for forcing a 12-year-old girl into illegally marrying him with the connivance of her father who was also nabbed by the police.

 

According to police, the accused were arrested in a raid organized in Risalpur area a day before the bride’s departure to the house of her alleged husband. The accused have been identified as Bani Ameen (girl’s father) and 40-year-old Khalid (girl’s alleged husband). The police also recovered a pistol, with a bullet inside, from the possession of the accused.

 

“The girl’s father was equally involved in intimidating the girl and her mother into marrying off the girl with a 40-year-old man,” police said. “Raids are being carried out for the arrest of the marriage registrar and witnesses,” said police.

1330kg heroin recovered from Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Airport Security Force (ASF) conducted a joint operation at the Islamabad International Airport and recovered 1330kg of heroin from a passenger.

 

According to Spokesperson ANF Headquarters Rawalpindi’s report on Tuesday, the heroin was recovered from the trolley bag of a passenger named Muhammad Adil, who was a resident of Swabi.

 

The 1,330kg of heroin was expertly hidden in a trolley bag of the accused who was on his way to Sharjah via flight number ER703. A case has been registered against him under the Anti-Narcotics act and further investigation was underway.

PN, ANF seize 1000 kg drugs

KARACHI: In an intelligence based joint sea operation, Pakistan Navy and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized approximately 1000 kg drugs at North Arabian Sea. The drugs valued at approximately 247 Million Rupees. The seized drugs were subsequently handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal proceedings.

 

The successful execution of Anti-Narcotics joint Operation is a strong demonstration of Pakistan Navy’s resolve to deter and disrupt illegal activities in maritime zones of Pakistan. Pakistan Navy is vigilant to counter any illegal activity along the coast line and at sea. Pakistan Navy will continue to fulfill its national responsibilities with highest level of commitment and dedication.

Two cops die as their van falls into Shangla ravine

Shangla: Two cops were killed while nine others were injured when a van carrying 13 policemen fell into a deep ravine at Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to a report on Tuesday.

 

Those injured in the accident were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Puran for the provision of first aid. However, three policemen whose condition was critical were shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital in Mingora, Swat.

 

Funeral prayer for the deceased personnel was offered at Alwach Police Station, while a police contingent presented them gun salute. A large number of people, including DPO Shangla Muhammad Imran and SP Investigation Muzammil Shah, attended the funeral. The policemen were returning from Peshawar where they had gone to provide security to the teams administering polio drops to children.

Police arrest drug dealers, recover 6kg hashish

KARACHI: The Malir police on Wednesday apprehended a drug dealer along with his accomplice from Shah Latif.

 

According to spokesperson of Malir police, the police acted on a tip-off near the National Highway and arrested a drug dealer along with his accomplice. The arrested accused have been identified as Zubair and Muhammad Bakhsh.

 

The police said more than 06 kg of fine quality hashish was recovered from the arrested accused. The arrested suspects were supplying drugs in different parts of the city.

 

The police officials said names of the arrested suspects were included in the list of most wanted drug dealers. The accused are habitual offenders and have been arrested and jailed in several drug cases. A case has been registered against the arrested accused and investigation is underway.
