SAPM: (SOPs must for combating COVID-19: Dr Sultan)

ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan has said that re-emergence of coronavirus can pose threat to the people’s health if necessary measures are not taken in time.

 

In an interview with a private television channel, he said strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is must to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Dr Faisal said wearing mask could help minimize the effects of the virus. He stressed the need for implementation of the SOPs through local administration to protect public from the virus.

KP: (Demo staged before KP Assembly against blasphemous cartoons)

ISLAMABAD:A protest was staged in front of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in Peshawar on Tuesday against blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu Allaihe Wa Aaalhee Wasalam Khatam-un-Nabiyeen.

 

The protestors were chanting slogans against the French government. They demanded for cutting off diplomatic ties with France over its irresponsible and anti-Islam policy.

 

Addressing the protestors, the speakers said French President Emmanuel Macron had deeply hurt sentiments of Muslims across the globe. They demanded an effective international policy to stop publishing of anti-Islam and hate content on any platform.

KP: (KP CM calls for modern training to police to fulfill their duties professionally)

ISLAMABAD:Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has stressed the need for modern training to police to fulfill their duties professionally.

 

Addressing the under-training police personnel in district Mohmand, he said protection of lives and properties is the top priority of the police force. The Chief Minister said the government is spending maximum resources to make the provincial police a professional force.

 

Mahmood Khan thanked Pak Army for imparting special training to the police of merged districts. Later, he inaugurated a primary school in the area which has been completed at a cost of Rs22 million.

ISLAMABAD:Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that utmost reverence and respect of Hazrat Muhammad Salla Allahu Allaihe Wa Aaalhee Wasalam Khatam-un-Nabiyeen is the part of faith of all Muslims around the world.

 

Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Tuesday, he said any act of disrespecting Hazrat Muhammad Salla Allahu Allaihe Wa Aaalhee Wasalam Khatam-un-Nabiyeen, in the garb of freedom of expression, will not be tolerated.

 

He announced to start Rs500 million worth ‘Rehmat ul Alameen scholarship program in the province.

PM: (PM announces energy relief package for industrial sector)

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a comprehensive package to provide electricity to industries at reduced rates.

 

Announcing the package on Tuesday, he said small and medium industries will get additional electricity on 50 percent reduced rates from November 01 till June 30 of the next year.

 

For example, if an industrial unit would buy electricity at a rate of 16 rupees per unit and now it will get the same on fifty percent discount on consuming additional electricity.

 

He said it has also been decided to provide additional electricity at 25 percent discounted rates to all the industry, including big and small unites, for next three years. He said the electricity will be provided to the industry on off-peak hours’ basis throughout the year.

 

The Prime Minister said it was unfortunate that our industrial products could not compete with other countries due to expensive electricity as a result of costly power agreements signed by the previous governments.

 

He said this package will reduce cost of production, enhance Pakistan’s exports, and create wealth. He said due to prudent economic policies of the government, a record sale of cement, motorcycles, and cars has been witnessed, whereas our construction sector is also progressing at a great pace.

Minister: (Info Minister expresses deep grief over death of prominent journalist Saud Sahir)

ISLAMABAD:Information Minister Shibli Faraz has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of prominent journalist Saud Sahir.

 

In a tweet on Tuesday, he said Saud Sahir was a shining star of journalism, who had a unique style of writing.

 

The Information Minister said Saud Sahir was also an active leader for the protection of rights of journalists. He said his demise has left a vacuum which cannot be filled.

 

FO: (Pakistan condemns terrorist attack in Vienna)

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has condemned in strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack in Central Vienna which resulted in the loss of precious lives and wounded several others.

 

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has denounced the terrorist attack in Vienna. In a statement on Tuesday, he expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the despicable incident. Expressing solidarity with the government and people of Austria, he said Pakistan condemns terrorism.

 

Meanwhile, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez in a statement on Tuesday conveyed Pakistan’s deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families of innocent victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. The spokesperson said Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
